How Mentoring Works

The processes in place within Stay Bright Mentoring have been developed and honed using nearly 20 years of mentoring experience.

At each stage, the approach adapts to the needs of the employee and employer, tailoring sessions to enhance their impact, and maximise the benefits of mentoring.

Further details are available in the For Employers and For Employees sections of this website.

Intros and Briefing

The first step is all about gaining an understanding of why mentoring is required, from all sides of the relationship. We’ll meet to discuss how mentoring can support your staff, and share information about the mentee. This will include input and ideally an introduction to their line manager.

Session Planning

When we’ve agreed to go ahead with mentoring, I’ll provide an information pack for you to share with the mentee, and ask the line manager to discuss with them why they are being put forward for mentoring. An introductory email will be set up to connect Stay Bright with the mentee and get a date for the first session.

Mentoring Sessions

The focus of discussion will be decided upon by the mentee and mentor at the end of each session, along with a date for the next session. The initial commitment is for six sessions, with additional purchased in blocks of three. Continuation will be discussed after the fifth session has been completed.
